Christmas @ Home

After a crazy snow storm in Colorado, I finally made it home. Never has Denver been a more welcome sight than it was on Friday afternoon. I'm a little under the weather (both the kids i was watching in Aspen were sick) but it's been an amazing time with family and friends.
The "Quad Squad" was back in action as Sister, Melissa (my sister's best friend), Anna (my best friend) and I reunited for our annual get-together...lots of laughter and great conversation later, we feel temporarily satisfied with each other's company.
Mom, Sister and I have had lots of quality bonding time (and shopping) and my brother, as always, tries to tackle me at least once a day-it wouldn't feel like home otherwise-haha. Pa and Brother went up to Monarch to get in on some of the fabulous snow we've had recently and tonight is game night with our family friends, the Mellema's. There are lots of competitive people in that group so it should be interesting...(i'm not one of them-ha).
Another snow storm is supposedly coming in and should parallel the other storm in size. We'll see if my flight to Seattle goes out on Friday afternoon.
This Christmas struck me in a special way, and I pray blessings on the New Year for you all.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ALMOST 2007...where has my life gone? it's flying by so quickly :0)
(p.s. pictures to come)

Aspen

well, there is much more to tell than can fit here (or that i have time to type) but i'd just like to say that aspen is absolutely gorgeous!! quintessentially winter wonderland. i have met some of the nicest people here (mostly foreign too) and my hours off each day are like a breath of fresh air. last night, i wanted to catch the end of the broncos game so i walked into cooper street bar (by myself) and about 20 ski bums stared at me...talk about intimdating. but i walked cooly to a table for one by the wall and ordered. i love going out by myself and i have opportunity every day to do so here...what fun to be able to explore at my own leisure! my first night off i wandered arouond lots of art galleries...gorgeous pieces. then went ice skating at an outdoor rink...chatted with the folks and ate ice cream.
tonight i'm meeting up with some people i met for dinner...should be great! (they are from australia-lovely accents). can't wait to go home for Christmas but trying to make the most of my moments here (when they aren't sressful).

I found a HOT dress.

I want to have an attractive (preferably foreign) man at my side.

Stressed Silly

ok, i'm finally going to admit it-I'M STRESSED OUT!!! i have so much going on in the month of december that i just can't handle it anymore. On numerous occasions, after lying in bed losing precious hours of sleep, i have told myself to take one day at a time. that's what i have to do.
i think once january rolls around i will be able to breathe a sigh of relief: new job (hopefully), big trip done, other life things will have passed. whew. i'm gonna make it.
tonight i was lying on the floor in my room on my back, and nicole came in to chat. approximately one minute later i was bawling my eyes out, tears pooling in my ears (get it- i was lying flat on my back), and i was suprised! i guess i thought i had been handling it fine-but alas, there's nothing like a good cry to get you back on your feet. thanks nicole! what would i do without her...

Broncos Loss

So, now that I have lived in Seattle for 4 1/2 years I have become quite the Seahawks fan. BUT when they play against the Broncos-I clearly have to root for my homeland...no questions asked. Tonights game was disappointing because not only did the Broncos suffer two injuries, break-in a rookie quarterback and have 4 turnovers but they LOST. Now, not only did they lose at home-their third in a row-but they lost to the Seahawks who played horribly. Hasselbeck was a disaster until the very end of the fourth quarter; his 3rd down recovery stats suck, and they won off a field goal. Week 13 was not a good one for me.
